Tierra del Sol awarded $50,000 for rural home improvements

Six homes located in southern New Mexico will receive grant funds for improvements. U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Rural Development’s Housing Preservation Grant Program awarded $50,000 to Tierra del Sol Housing to make the improvements.

Crouch Mesa residents without potable water

Crouch Mesa, New Mexico residents have been without potable water since May 25 due to treatment plant failures. About 7,000 customers served by the AV Water Company’s Morningstar and Harvest gold water systems have been living under a boil advisory.

RCAC Loan Fund lends more than $8.3 million to rural communities

West Sacramento, Calif. — In the quarter ending Dec. 31, 2015, Rural Community Assistance Corporation (RCAC) closed 29 loans totaling more than $8.3 million to assist rural communities in Arizona, California, New Mexico, Oregon, Washington and Utah with housing, water infrastructure and community development projects.
