According to March survey results released by Fresno State, local San Joaquin Valley residents are concerned about water. In total 541 adults were contacted—31 percent of survey respondents note that water is the most important issue, higher than crime, job creation and global warming. One in five residents reported reliable access to safe drinking water is a problem. Findings also revealed overwhelming concern about availability of a future water supply in spite of an excessively wet winter.
The Institute for Leadership and Public Policy, which is under Fresno State’s College of Social Science, conducted the survey.
