Keep Your Home California Program
California Housing Finance Agency (CalHFA) Mortgage Assistance Corporation contracted with Rural Community Assistance Corporation (RCAC) to administer the counseling agency portion of the Keep Your Home California programs. These programs help low- and moderate-income families stay in their homes, when possible, and leverage additional contributions from mortgage servicers.
Primary objectives for the Keep Your Home California programs include:
- Preserving homeownership for low- and moderate-income homeowners in California by reducing the number of delinquencies and preventing avoidable foreclosures
- Assisting in the stabilization of California communities
RCAC selected several housing counseling agencies in California to serve clients facing foreclosure who are eligible for the Keep Your Home California programs. To access the list of counselors who can work with you to assess your eligibility for one or more of the programs click here >>
These programs are only available to homeowners whose mortgage servicing company agrees to the terms and conditions governing the use of these funds. (Your servicer is the company that you make your mortgage payments to each month.) If your servicer is not participating in Keep Your Home California, you may want to call them and encourage them to do so.
