RCAC seeks a Loan Officer

RCAC is seeking a Loan Officer to assist RCAC’s Loan Fund in its mission to manage resources, develop programs and participate in collaborative efforts. The office location for this position is flexible within the two-state area of Colorado and Utah. The main requirement is that the office be within 2 hours of a major airport.
RCAC’s Loan Fund is a financial resource for rural communities, filling financing gaps and serving those traditionally neglected by conventional markets. As a certified Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI), our loan fund offers a comprehensive array of products for affordable housing development, environmental infrastructure and community facilities in rural locations. Each RCAC loan product is designed to meet the unique underwriting and structuring needs of nonprofit and local government borrowers.
Major responsibilities of a Loan Officer include, but are not limited to: underwriting and originating primarily commercial type real estate secured loans, enabling RCAC technical service providers to gain access to the resources of the Loan Fund, providing technical assistance to clients, training at network conferences and workshops and assisting the loan administration team with loan servicing; soliciting new investments; possible program-related research and writing.
An applicant should have:
Clear understanding of commercial real estate loan underwriting
Clear understanding of credit and finance
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Extensive knowledge of PC applications
Experience in affordable housing and/or, community facility and/or infrastructure –finance.
Communication, facilitation, mediation and meeting management skills
The ideal candidate will have a minimum 3 years of applicable experience in commercial real estate lending and a Bachelor's degree (additional qualifying experience may be substituted).
