Rural AlaskaHouse Bill 209 was signed into law July 28 forming the Alaska Water and Sewer Advisory Committee which will assess current water and sewer conditions in rural areas of the state.

The new committee includes 10 people under the Alaska Legislature made up of members from both House and Senate, federal and state agencies, nonprofit Tribal health corporations, two rural community members and one civil engineer.
