West Sacramento, Calif. — Rural Community Assistance Corporation (RCAC) has received $13.67 million over five years in U.S. Department of Agriculture Rural Development (USDA RD) funding through the USDA RD Mutual Self-Help Housing Program to support single-family home construction and to help prepare rural residents for homeownership. RCAC offers a wide variety of loan products to assist nonprofit organizations, Tribal and public bodies and business owners with programs for affordable housing, infrastructure, community facilities and small businesses. Our Loan Fund team is easy to work with and provides quick turnaround on applications. Check out the details on our new Idaho SRF – Household Septic System Program, which provides low-interest rate loans and/or grants to refurbish or replace individual septic systems.

Water system policies: must haves for small systems
Having written, up-to-date policies that are followed is one of the best ways to avoid utility management disasters and ensure your water system remains in compliance and financially viable. In this workshop, you will learn how to list common policies for small water systems; recognize the benefits of written, up-to-date policies; identify which policies you need to update or create for your system; and create a draft policy using a template. We will also discuss the impact policies have on customers, operations and management.
