WEST SACRAMENTO, Calif. – Rural Community Assistance Corporation announced that it has received a $10,000 grant from Mechanics Bank to support its work. This funding will help RCAC continue its mission of assisting underserved rural and Indigenous communities across the Western United States.

“We greatly appreciate the support from Mechanics Bank,” said Suzanne Anarde-Devenport, RCAC’s chief executive officer. “This grant will help us maintain and expand our programs, ensuring that rural and Indigenous communities have the resources they need to thrive.”

Since 1978, RCAC has worked to improve the quality of life in rural areas through services such as affordable housing, community and economic development, environmental infrastructure and community resilience. The grant from Mechanics Bank will support these ongoing efforts.

RCAC partners with rural and Indigenous communities to achieve their vision and well-being through technical assistance, training, financial resources, and advocacy. RCAC serves rural communities in 13 western states and western Pacific islands. Services are available to communities with populations of fewer than 50,000, other nonprofit groups, tribal organizations, farmworkers, colonias and other specific populations.
