Prestigious accreditation demonstrates commitment to high-quality lifelong learning

December 10, 2015, West Sacramento, Calif. – The International Association for Continuing Education and Training (IACET) awarded accreditation status to Rural Community Assistance Corporation (RCAC). IACET Accredited Providers are the only organizations approved to offer IACET Continuing Education Units (CEUs). The accreditation period extends for five years and includes all programs offered or created during that time. These CEUs are recognized, accepted and, even required by many state agencies and credentialing organizations.

“RCAC is proud of its education programs, which train approximately 4,000 drinking water and wastewater system managers and operators each year in important technical, managerial and financial skills so that our clients stay on the cutting edge,” said Stanley Keasling, RCAC’s chief executive officer. Keasling added, “Our new partnership with IACET demonstrates our commitment to lifelong learning and high standards for all of our programs. We are very pleased to associate with such a prestigious organization and the elite group of organizations that offer excellent continuing education and training programs.”

“We are pleased to continue our relationship with RCAC as an Accredited Provider,” stated Lori Schnaider, president of IACET. Schnaider added, “RCAC joins nearly 600 organizations around the globe that have had their programs audited by third-party continuing education experts to ensure the highest possible standards are met.”

RCAC provides technical, managerial and financial training and technical assistance to water and wastewater operators and utilities working in small communities and Indian Country across the western United States. Staff supports housing organizations working to improve the living conditions of rural people, and to expand housing opportunities. RCAC has developed training curricula in leadership and entrepreneurial development.

RCAC completed a rigorous application process, including a review by an IACET site visitor, to achieve its Accredited Provider accreditation. The organization successfully demonstrated adherence to the ANSI/IACET 1-2013 Standard addressing the design, development, administration, and evaluation of its programs. RCAC has pledged its continued compliance with the Standard, and is now authorized to use the IACET name and Accredited Provider logo on promotional course material. In addition, RCAC is now linked to the IACET web site and is recognized as offering the highest quality continuing education and training programs.
