WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Rural Community Assistance Partnership, a national organization facilitating access to safe drinking water and sanitary wastewater disposal to rural communities, has announced the selection of Nathan Ohle as its new executive director, starting May 15. Nathan fills the vacancy created by Robert B. Stewart’s retirement. The selection was made after a national search and selection process.
“It is with great pleasure and excitement that I announce this appointment,” stated Hope F. Cupit, RCAP Board Chair and CEO of Southeast RCAP. “All of us here at RCAP are committed to improving the lives of those living in rural America. Nathan brings talents to the organization that will enhance this commitment.”
Nathan Ohle has been a leader in economic development and partnerships for more than a decade at both the federal and state levels. He recently served in the Obama Administration as the Senior Advisor at the US Economic Development Administration (EDA). Nathan also served on the White House Rural Council where he helped rural communities gain access to federal funding and technical assistance from more than 15 federal agencies. He was the US Department of Commerce’s leading expert on economic mobility, helping to create economic opportunity for some of the country’s most distressed communities. Nathan worked to create locally-driven, place-based economic development plans in partnership with other federal agencies, and shaped two of President Obama’s Executive orders. Prior to coming to DC, Nathan worked in the public and non-profit sectors in Michigan, including working for Governor Jennifer M. Granholm.
Nathan was recently selected as one of 40 Under 40 Rising Stars in Economic Development internationally and is active on several non-profit boards. Ohle got two Bachelor’s Degrees from Michigan State University. Nathan and his wife Lindsey live in Falls Church, VA with their two children.

The Rural Community Assistance Partnership (RCAP) is a national network of six regional RCAPs working to ensure that rural and small communities through the United States have access to safe drinking water and sanitary wastewater disposal. The Partnership provides a variety of programs to accomplish this goal, such as direct training and technical assistance.
