Merced County schools gather to celebrate increased access to safe drinking water
Merced, Calif. –Dignity Health, The California Endowment, Rural Community Assistance Corporation (RCAC) and Le Grand and Planada school districts gathered on March 9 to celebrate the newly unveiled water bottle filling stations that have been installed in elementary, middle and high schools.
Resources available to schools that test positive for lead contamination in water
West Sacramento, Calif. – Recently the California State Water Board mandated that local water districts provide free water testing for lead contamination at the point of use in California schools—when the school requests it. Lead in drinking water is serious, but schools have options to mitigate contamination, including access to technical assistance and funding.
