RCAC’s Loan Fund is a financial resource for rural communities. The Loan Fund fills financing gaps and serves in unconventional markets. We offer loans for affordable housing development, environmental infrastructure, community facilities and small businesses in rural locations. Our staff serve rural communities in Alaska, Arizona, California, Colorado, Hawaii and other Pacific islands, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, New Mexico, Oregon, Utah, Washington and Wyoming.
RCAC created its Loan Fund in 1988 and was later certified as a Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI). We hold an Aeris rating of 4 Stars AA Policy Plus. The rating is based on a comprehensive review of the RCAC Loan Fund and the entire RCAC organization. We are also licensed by the California Department of Business Oversight #60DB0 83068.
As of March 31, 2023, RCAC closed 1,729 loans which totaled $815,552,971 and leveraged more than $2.773 billion for projects in rural communities. These loans supported 148,764 individual water and wastewater connections for rural citizens; 16,686 housing units; 11,660,465 feet of community facility space; and created or retained 28,949 jobs. RCAC currently has 387 loans under management, totaling more than $93,408,687 million. Additionally, RCAC manages 51 loans totaling more than $33.5 million on behalf of other lenders and investors.
