West Sacramento, Calif. — Rural Community Assistance Corporation (RCAC) Contract Manager Jennifer Hazard was named this week to California’s Safe and Affordable Funding for Equity and Resilience (SAFER) Advisory Group.

SAFER is a set of tools, funding sources and regulatory authorities designed to help struggling water systems sustainably and affordably provide safe drinking water to the communities they serve. The Advisory Group provides the California State Water Board with constructive advice and feedback on the SAFER Fund Expenditure Plan and other related policies and analyses.

“It’s critical to have rural perspectives represented in conversations about access to safe drinking water,” said Suzanne Anarde, RCAC chief executive officer. “Jennifer will bring her expertise to the table and ensure rural voices are heard.”

“Jennifer has been an integral part of RCAC’s work in Southern California and she’ll be a strong voice for California’s rural communities,” said Ari Neumann, director, RCAC Community & Environmental Services.
