Where: Tulare County, California
Problem: Homeowners Association needed to replace deteriorated infrastructure.
Solution: RCAC provided financing and expertise to ensure the infrastructure was updated and the community has access to safe drinking water.

Sierra King Homeowners Association (SKHA), a nonprofit corporation, provides water service to a 60-lot subdivision and six additional properties in Tulare County, California.

SKHA obtained an $82,900 loan from RCAC’s Loan Fund to replace key components of its water system while maintaining its reserves for future maintenance needs.

The nonprofit had little experience maintaining a water system, so it also requested RCAC’s help to determine what improvements should be done and to help select qualified vendors to complete the work. Thanks to RCAC’s help, the newly upgraded water system produces water that complies with state and federal safe drinking water requirements.

RCAC’s financing and technical assistance enabled the utility to provide safe water to its customers and preserve valuable financial resources.
