Dave Ferrier is RCAC’s new Housing Department director

West Sacramento, Calif. — Rural Community Assistance Corporation (RCAC) is pleased to announce that Dave Ferrier is RCAC’s new Housing Department Director. Most recently he was Community Housing Improvement Program’s (CHIP) chief executive officer where he has worked for 35 years.

The Inland Empire is a metropolitan area and region, however it also includes the Coachella Valley, as well as San Bernardino and Riverside counties.

Rural Oregon county wants to declare housing emergency

Joining the ranks of Seattle and San Francisco, Josephine County in rural Oregon, asked the state’s Gov. Kate Brown to declare a two-year housing emergency. During the past 10 years, fewer than 100 apartment units were constructed in the area, versus more than 1,000 homes that were sold to investors and retirees.

RCAC Loan Fund lends more than $10 million to rural communities

West Sacramento, Calif. — In the quarter ending Sept. 30, 2017, Rural Community Assistance Corporation (RCAC) closed 30 loans totaling more than $10 million to assist rural communities in Arizona, California, New Mexico and Washington. One loan will support a community health nonprofit organization in central California. Another loan will support a Washington tenant organization’s manufactured housing community acquisition.
