Homestead Hawaiians Purchase Apartments on Fee Property to Maintain Affordability
Lihue, Kauai, Hawaii — A Hawaiian homestead nonprofit governed by enrolled members of the Sovereign Council of Hawaiian Homestead Associations (SCHHA) has purchased a 6-unit apartment property in downtown Lihue, Kauai. The purchase by the Homestead Community Development Corporation (HCDC) closed on January 14, 2022, marking a first in fee property ownership and rental housing management by the nonprofit. Climate Catalyst Fund accepting proposals to jumpstart forest biomass projects
The state’s new climate-finance program expected to expand to support array of project categories—SACRAMENTO (January 31, 2022) — The California Infrastructure and Economic Development Bank (IBank), part of the Governor’s Office of Business and Economic Development, is now accepting project proposals for a new state program to combat climate change.
