More than a million affordable housing units at risk
Tools and resources that help preserve affordable housing face continuous challenges, leaving more than a million units at risk. The contracts that maintain affordability for low-income apartments will expire during the next 10 years, including 530,000 units with U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) project-based rental assistance.

For these Californians-of which one in three is Hispanic and nearly half are adults diagnosed as pre-diabetic-the only alternatives to unsafe water are expensive bottled water or sugary drinks.

Rural Community Assistance Corporation’s Loan Fund celebrates 30 years of lending
July 25, 2018 marks Rural Community Assistance Corporation (RCAC) Loan Fund’s 30th anniversary. RCAC created the Loan Fund in 1988 with an initial $1 million investment from the Ford Foundation. An additional $1 million loan (later converted to a grant) from Bank of America boosted lending capital. The Loan Fund was later certified as a Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI).
