New California Senate bill allows churches to bypass zoning restrictions for affordable housing
A bill to aid in California’s affordable housing crisis has been introduced in the state Senate. Senate Bill 899 (SB899) allows affordable housing construction on land owned by churches, synagogues, mosques and other faith-based institutions.

U.S. Department of the Treasury awards $3.75 million to support RCAC’s affordable housing efforts
West Sacramento, Calif. —The U.S. Department of the Treasury’s Community Development Financial Institutions Fund (CDFI Fund) awarded Rural Community Assistance Corporation (RCAC) $3.75 million through its Capital Magnet Fund (CMF). RCAC is among 38 organizations that received a CMF award.
